Emissions and Energy Reduction

Over the past ten years the City has undertaken a number of initiatives along the journey towards reducing emissions and energy use.

• Switching passenger fleet vehicles from petrol to hybrid vehicles
• Installation of solar panels on various City facilities including the Queens Park Theatre, Geradlton Regional Art Gallery, Queen Elizabeth II Seniors and Community Centre, the Aquarena, the Geraldton Multipurpose Centre and the Geraldton Regional Library.
• Installation of solar powered street lighting at Point Moore and Pages Beach carparks.
• Installed LED flood lighting at various sporting grounds and parks including the Wonthella Oval, Lions Park in Mullewa, 8th Street Sport Precinct, Alexander Park and Greenough Oval, Woorree Park BMX Track, 8th Street West Playing Field and the Little Athletic Centre.

Upcoming projects
